Parkway Central junior runs away with title


Rick Graefe photo/ Parkway Central's Emily Sisson won the Class 4 state title in 17 minutes and 57 seconds. She's just the second female to break 18 minutes at the state meet. The first was Merideth Snow in her senior season at Eureka in 2005. She set the course record in 17:51.

JEFFERSON CITY - Emily Sisson was grateful for the golf cart.

Sisson, the 17-year-old Parkway Central junior harrier, has been known to take a wrong turn now and again on the cross country course.

At Saturday's Missouri State High School Activities Association Class 4 championship race, Sisson had a golf cart to lead her across the hilly, winding Oak Hills Golf Center.
